Lura B. Rouse

With sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lura Bailey Rouse, 93, on April 12, 2024. Born September 15, 1930, she was the daughter of Harold And Melinda Bailey. Lura spent her early and teenage years in Scio, NY. Many years were spent in Knoxville, PA, raising her family with her husband, Wesley and her later years were spent in Tully, NY. Lura was predeceased by her loving husband, Wesley Rouse; son, Gary Rouse and sisters, Alma Harmer and Beryl Reinprecht. She is survived by son, Thomas (Pat) Rouse and daughter, Jan Rouse; grandmother to Timothy (Jen) Rouse and Shaun Rouse; Gigi to Benjamin and Allie May Rouse; special friends, GretaMarie Taft and John and Dottie Ciciarelli and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She had a full life as a loving wife, wonderful mother, and homemaker. She worked in retail and bookkeeping. She enjoyed many forms of needlework and painting, decorating our home, and making everyday special. Most of all she loved her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Knight’s Creek Cemetery, Scio, NY. An expression of sympathy memorial donation may be made to the Knoxville Public Library, 112 E.
